Grouting
The injection of a flowable cement or chemical mix into cracks, voids and joints to fill, seal or strengthen them.
What is Grouting?
Grouting is the injection of a flowable, non-shrink material, usually a mix of cement, sand, water and special chemicals, into voids, cracks or joints. In civil engineering it fixes anchor bolts, stabilises soil, strengthens honeycombed concrete and waterproofs leaking basements.
Practical example
While installing heavy industrial machinery, the contractor sets the steel base plate over the concrete foundation and pours high-strength epoxy grout into the 2-inch gap between the plate and the concrete. The grout flows level and hardens, so the vibration of the machine passes safely into the ground.
In SuperWise
In SuperWise a site engineer raises a material indent for epoxy grout with the quantity and the date it is needed, and can link the line to a BOQ item. Deliveries are recorded against the PO line, and consumption is recorded against a task and a BOQ item. SuperWise shows the stock left on site as an inventory balance per project.
