Vitrified Tiles
Hard, low-porosity ceramic tiles fired at very high temperature, now the standard flooring in Indian homes and offices.
What is Vitrified Tiles?
Vitrified Tiles are the standard flooring in modern Indian residential and commercial buildings. A mixture of clay, silica, quartz and feldspar is hydraulically pressed and fired at very high kiln temperatures. This vitrification turns the body glassy, so the tile is very hard, resists scratches and absorbs under 0.5% water, which is why it rarely stains.
Practical example
A homeowner replacing old marble floors chooses double-charge vitrified tiles for the living room. Marble has to be laid, ground and polished with chemicals over several weeks, but vitrified tiles are cut precisely at the factory. The contractor lays them with a thin-set adhesive and finishes the grouting, and the floor can be walked on the next day.
In SuperWise
In SuperWise a tile delivery is recorded on a material delivery challan (MDC) against a purchase order line, with photos of the material, a QC status and an approval. When 20 of 500 boxes arrive broken, the store team can record the 480 intact boxes and photograph the damage. A bill inward reconciles the vendor's invoice with approved challans only.
