GFC Drawings (Good For Construction)
The final approved set of architectural and structural drawings that a site team may build from.
What is GFC Drawings (Good For Construction)?
GFC drawings, short for Good For Construction, are the final blueprints stamped and released by the principal architect and structural consultant. Unlike preliminary or tender drawings, they carry the exact, finalised dimensions, reinforcement details and elevations that physical construction needs.
Practical example
A site engineer receives a set of plumbing drawings. Before the plumber lays pipes in the floor slab, the engineer checks the title block for a GFC stamp. If the drawing is marked Tender Purpose Only, the engineer halts the work, because building from unapproved drawings leads to rework.
In SuperWise
In SuperWise a drawing is a project document with a number, a purpose such as For Construction (IFC) and a stage such as Superseded. A new revision keeps the earlier version in the revision history of the document. A drawing can be linked to the schedule node it applies to, such as a floor slab.
