Wall Putty
A white cement or acrylic powder mixed with water and applied in thin coats over plaster to give a smooth surface before painting.
What is Wall Putty?
Wall Putty is a white, cement-based or acrylic-based fine powder, mixed with water, that finishes interior walls before painting. Plastered brick walls have tiny pores and a rough sand texture, however skilled the mason. Painters apply two thin coats of putty, sand them smooth and add a primer, which gives the final paint an even surface.
Practical example
A contractor finishing the interior of a luxury villa applies a base coat of white cement wall putty over the raw plaster. After it dries, labourers spend two days sanding it with fine sandpaper. Without the putty, the expensive imported satin paint would look bumpy and soak in unevenly.
In SuperWise
In SuperWise putty bags arrive on a material delivery challan against a purchase order line and leave stock through a material consumption record, which names the task and the BOQ item that used them. Putty and paint can be separate BOQ items, each measured on its own measurement sheet.
