Interlocking Paver Blocks
Precast concrete blocks laid over sand to form outdoor pavements and driveways that can be lifted and relaid for repairs.
What is Interlocking Paver Blocks?
Interlocking paver blocks are small, solid, unreinforced precast concrete blocks used for exterior flooring. They are laid tightly in patterns such as herringbone or zig-zag over a compacted sand bed, and friction and the sand in the joints lock them together. The pavement can bear heavy loads without a concrete slab underneath.
Practical example
A developer chooses interlocking paver blocks instead of asphalt for an apartment society's driveway. Six months later an underground water pipe bursts. Asphalt would have to be broken up and patched, but the maintenance crew lifts the pavers, fixes the pipe and relays the same blocks.
In SuperWise
A flooring subcontractor's paver work is a BOQ item priced per sq.m on a work order. In SuperWise each measurement line holds number, length and breadth, and the measurement sheet computes the installed area. The approved quantity feeds the RA bill, and the cumulative billed area cannot pass the area on the work order.
