What is Kaccha Structure / Road?

A Kaccha structure is a temporary or impermanent structure built from mud, thatch or unburnt bricks. In Indian usage kaccha means raw or unpolished, and its opposite, pucca, means a permanent structure of RCC and burnt bricks. A kaccha road is an unpaved dirt track that contractors cut on a site for temporary equipment access.

Practical example

Before the monsoon, a contractor compacts the temporary kaccha access road to the site and tops it with stone soling. Left as plain dirt, the road would turn to impassable mud and stop concrete transit mixers from reaching the batching plant.
