What is Indian Standard (IS) Codes?

Indian Standard (IS) codes are the technical guidelines published by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). They set minimum safety requirements, testing methods, design parameters and acceptable quality limits for almost every construction material and method used in India.

Practical example

A structural engineer designs a building to IS 456, the Code of Practice for Plain and Reinforced Concrete, and calculates the rebar from its formulas. Later, cement arriving on site is tested for compliance with IS 1489, the standard for Portland Pozzolana Cement.

In SuperWise

In SuperWise a team builds its own checklist forms, with yes or no, number, photo and signature fields and an expected answer for each field. A checklist can be set as the start or finish checklist of a task, and with enforcement on, the task cannot be completed until the filled checklist is approved. A team can word the fields after the clauses of an IS code.
