What is HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning)?

HVAC stands for Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning, the mechanical systems that regulate temperature in a building through chillers and boilers, control humidity, and filter and circulate fresh air through ductwork, to keep occupants comfortable and safe.

Practical example

In a shopping mall, the HVAC contractor installs large central chiller units on the roof, runs chilled water pipes down the service shafts and fits air handling units (AHUs) with sheet-metal ductwork above the false ceilings to keep shoppers cool.

In SuperWise

In SuperWise a chiller or an air handling unit is bought on a purchase order, and deliveries against a line cannot pass the maximum quantity set on it. Each delivery is recorded as a material delivery challan with photos and a quality status. Only an accepted challan can go into the supplier's bill.
