Punch List (Snag List)
The list of minor defects and unfinished items found at final inspection, which the contractor must fix before handover.
What is Punch List (Snag List)?
A punch list, also called a snag list in India, is an inventory of minor defects and unfinished items found at the final inspection of a project, such as chipped paint, a missing door handle or a scratched tile. Under the contract, the contractor receives final payment only after every item is punched out, meaning rectified.
Practical example
The PMC walks through a newly built apartment for the final inspection and writes a snag list. The master bedroom door squeaks, the kitchen sink has a small leak and the balcony railing lacks its final coat of paint. The contractor spends three days fixing these snags before the apartment is cleared for handover to the buyer.
In SuperWise
SuperWise logs each snag as an issue on the project. The issue carries an issue type, a priority, a responsible user or contractor organisation and a target closure date, and it can link to a schedule node or task, with photos attached as evidence. Its status moves from open through in progress and resolved to closed.
