Joint Measurement Record (JMR)
A measurement sheet that the contractor and the client sign together on site, fixing the quantity of work done before a bill is raised.
What is Joint Measurement Record (JMR)?
A Joint Measurement Record (JMR) is the sheet of line-item measurements that a contractor's representative and the client's project manager take on site and sign together, such as cu.m of concrete or sq.m of plastering. Both sides agree the executed quantity before the contractor bills, so the JMR is the basis of contractor billing in India. It can be on paper or digital.
Practical example
At the end of the month, a plastering subcontractor wants to bill. Its supervisor walks the site with the PMC (Project Management Consultant) and, with a measuring tape, they record 450 sq.m of plastered wall. Both sign the JMR sheet, and the subcontractor attaches it to its RA bill as proof of the quantity.
In SuperWise
SuperWise records measurements in measurement sheets, one per BOQ item and work order. Each line holds the number, length, breadth and height, with a deduction for openings, and the net quantity is computed. Approving a sheet updates progress on the BOQ item, and the approved quantity feeds the RA bill raised against the work order.
