Farmland that has been legally converted by the District Collector so it can be used for homes, shops or industry.

## What is Non-Agricultural (NA) Land?

Non-Agricultural (NA) land is land that the District Collector has formally converted from farming use so that it can carry residential, commercial or industrial development. Most land in India is zoned for agriculture, and building a real estate project on it is illegal until the developer applies for an NA order and pays the conversion premium.

## Practical example

A developer buys 10 acres of cheap mango orchard on the outskirts of Pune. Before laying a single brick or advertising a township, the developer spends 6 months on the bureaucratic process of paying conversion premiums and obtaining the NA-Residential certificate. Without the NA order, the municipal body refuses to approve the building plans.

## In SuperWise

SuperWise files the NA order and the conversion papers as project documents, in a folder with a document date, tags and a stage such as Received, Under Review or Approved. Folder access is set by role, so a legal team can control who can view or change them.
