An aluminium formwork system that lets walls and a slab be poured together in one pour, which shortens the floor cycle on repeat floors.

## What is Mivan Shuttering (Aluminium Formwork)?

Mivan shuttering is a lightweight system of interlocking aluminium formwork panels, and in India the Mivan brand name is used for aluminium formwork in general. Unlike conventional column-and-beam construction, it lets the contractor pour all the walls and the roof slab of a floor together in one monolithic concrete pour, which gives strong structure, smooth finishes and a fast floor cycle.

## Practical example

A developer needs to build a 30-storey affordable housing tower quickly, and conventional construction takes 15 days per floor. After a heavy upfront investment in a custom Mivan system, the contractor pours shear walls, stairs and slabs together. The smooth finish removes the need for [plastering](https://superwise.site/glossary/plastering/) and brings the cycle down to 6 days per floor.

## In SuperWise

A typical floor can be a schedule template in SuperWise, placed as a node for each floor, so every floor follows the same task sequence on the Gantt. The template-wise cost summary groups every instance of a template, which lets a team compare the floors that share one cycle.
